The primitive

Two prices on a trader's record.

Reading the record

  1. The account stays the account

Name, address, rank. You already have a view on who trades well. Nothing about the account gets abstracted into a ticker.

  2. One number carries the market

The card leads with cumulative PnL. Deposits cannot move it. Only closed trades can, which makes it a number worth writing a contract on.

  3. The stats set the price

Volatility per reading, hit rate across the month and thirty-day volume. They feed the model that opens every quote.

  4. Two prices where a follow button would be

Each card ends in a live book: a call, a put, and the multiple that reaches the wallet after the fee.

One day, or one week.

Every listed account carries the same question over two horizons. Same underlying, same rule, more room for the record to move.

Calls and puts1 day

One session decides it. Noise dominates, so quotes sit closer to even and a single good day is enough.

A week of trading. Whatever edge an account has gets room to show through the noise.

Side

Buy the call or the put

A share costs what the book quotes and pays exactly 1 USDG if its side lands.

Settle

Collect on the record

At the close the median reading settles the market and winning shares become claimable.

Settled from a record anyone can read.

A reading is taken every five minutes. Both ends of a market are the median of the three readings nearest that moment, so no single print decides a position.

When the evidence cannot support a settlement, the market voids and every position is refunded at cost.

A reading older than 20 minutes values nothing.

Listed without being asked.

A market can exist on an account because its record is public. Two rules follow from that.

A share of every fee accrues in escrow against the account's name from the first trade. One signature from the account's wallet removes it, voids its open markets and refunds every position at cost.

Cumulative PnL is the underlying.

Account value cannot settle a market. A deposit an hour before the close would hand every call holder a win nobody traded for. Cumulative PnL is already net of flows: deposits move it by nothing, trades move it by exactly what they made or lost.

Every reading is hashed and served back. The current read: pending

strike = median(3 readings nearest open)
settle = median(3 readings nearest close)
winner  = settle > strike ? call : put

# a reading older than 20 minutes
# cannot value a moment; fewer than
# three eligible readings is a void

Questions that come up.

Do I need $PEERS to trade?

No. Markets are priced, traded and settled in USDG. $PEERS is the protocol token and is never required to take a position.

Can a trader move their own market?

Deposits do nothing to cumulative PnL, and both ends are a median of three readings. A single well-timed print is the value that gets discarded.

What happens if the readings stop?

The market voids and every position is refunded at cost. A gap is recorded as a gap, never filled in.

Why is an even book 1.98x and not 2x?

The multiple shown is what reaches the wallet. A 2% fee on winnings at redemption turns an even book into 1.98x.

Where do the account records come from?

From a public perpetuals venue's open account API. Every account on the board is read from it, never typed in.

I am a listed account. How do I leave?

One signature from the account's wallet. It voids every open market on the account and refunds each position at cost.

Every trader has a price.
